To help you and your family connect with nature you'll find several hundred acres of preserved greenspace, private parks, scenic outlooks and trails scattered throughout the mountain property offering breathtaking views and ideal settings for community gatherings.

Sunset Ridge Park

Swing with your children or grandchildren in Sunset Ridge Park and take a picnic lunch. This park is located in Homestead West on Long Rifle Road. It features a variety of swings, benches, and picnic tables where one can enjoy with friends and family. The Sunset Ridge trailhead is also located here if a hike is on your agenda.

Tranquility Rest Park

The name says it all. Tranquility Rest Park is a peaceful place to just sit and relax. This park is located on Long Rifle Road in Homestead West. This park features split rail fencing entrance and has a variety of swings and benches where residents and friends can enjoy the Great Smoky Mountains right in their own community. It also has ample parking along the road, so access is easy.

Homestead Community Park

Relax with friends and neighbors at the Homestead Community Park. This park is located on Whetstone Road just over a mile from the entrance to the property. The park features a rustic open-air pavilion where residents can enjoy grilling and a family picnic. Plenty of parking and restrooms are available.

Picnic Pavilion

Have lunch with your family at the picnic pavilion located on Cool Water Lane in Homestead East. This pavilion was built from antique logs and is open on all sides so that everyone can enjoy their surroundings. A trailhead is also located near this pavilion where residents can walk down to a small stream and enjoy the best of this Smoky Mountain property.

Overlook Pavilion

Soak in the panoramic views from the Overlook Pavilion located in Homestead East. This pavilion sits on a beautiful ridge with spectacular views of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. From this pavilion one can enjoy some of the best views The Homestead has to offer.

Old Mailroad Trail

The Old Mailroad Trail can be accessed from the Harmony Glen Trailhead on Whetstone Road near The Homestead Community Park. This is the trail with history! It has been told to us by local residents that this trail was once an old mail route between Knoxville and Gatlinburg when mail was still delivered by horseback. Explore history while you hike and walk along the creek with your family.

Wildcat Hollow Trail

Explore the valley on Wildcat Hollow Trail. This trail is located at the end of Whetstone Road near Stone Mill Court. On this trail you will enjoy the sound of soothing creeks and can explore a waterfall. There are benches and rest areas along the way to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

Sunset Ridge Trail

Sunset Ridge Trail is located on Long Rifle Road in Homestead West with access from Sunset Ridge Park. This trail is the ideal place to enjoy nature and family. Hike along this serene trail and enjoy the creek you'll follow along the way.
